Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)

The Northern Rhode Island Collaborative is pleased to offer Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention training for all professionals working with students. The Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention Pro-gram is a safe, non-harmful behavior management system to assist human service providers provide the best possible care, welfare, safety and security of disruptive, assaultive and out-of-control individuals even during their most violent moments. Partic-ipants in the training will develop an understanding of the Rhode Island Regulations regarding Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention.

Discussed topics will include:

 What interventions are allowed and what are prohibited;

 Techniques to assist individuals in keeping student acting-out behav-ior at the lowest, least threatening levels;

 How to intervene in crisis situations appropriately and in a way which will not damage the professional bond you have established with the individuals in your care.

Please note that first time participants are required to attend all three ses-sions; Those that require the refresher only must attend the last session only on Friday, March 11, 2016.
